Dear readers,
Since many people want to build a solar-air collector themselves, I would like to offer a kind of info forum, in which everything worth knowing has been compiled.
Of course, the first source is Youtube, but not all information is available there, each presents its own model without any advantages or disadvantages. Therefore, I would like to gather data here in order to offer as much as possible information for every reader free and free of charge.
Summary of all performance-enhancing features of a sun-warm-air collector:
1. Material outside:
The material is irrelevant because of the performance, whether you take wood, metal, or styrofoam is un-relevant. It is important that the outer material is closed and airtight. But which material is the most durable outdoors. Styrofoam maybe or well-painted wood? If you feel like it, why not, it also has a built-in thermal insulation directly. It takes care after a few years, but it is a matter of taste. Which material is most suitable? Metal natural, painted stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, bronze etc.
2. Material disc:
The cover plays a role. The light throughput is an important feature. You can take a glass pane, solar glass, Plexiglas, polycarbonate panes, even simple transparent plastic foils. All let the sunlight through and thus warm the module interior. But what is the most suitable? A plastic wrap certainly not, because after a year you have to repair them safely. Shatterproof glass is good, because it lets in the most light but is heavy. Recommended for those who can easily work on their own home. Because a 2 m² large shatterproof disc must first be lifted. Solar glass is also good, shatterproof, translucent enough and a little lighter, but more expensive. Plexiglas is very good, shatterproof, translucent, light and not expensive and easy to work with. A small disadvantage has the plexiglass, the lack of thermal insulation. Remember, this only accounts for 1-2% of the power. Polycarbonate lens is the most suitable, because it is unbreakable, translucent, lightweight and also heat-insulating, it is also inexpensive and easy to work. What more do you want. Please note, however, one, take a thin polycarbonate disc, because this leaves the much more important light more through, as a disadvantage of not so important, so always performance-specific meant, lower insulation.
3. The absorber: Heliotherm - Quality made in Greece
This innovative technology is shaped by our own experiences and many years of development. All materials are certified by the specialist market, ie in Europe and tested. The outer material and the absorber are made of nickel-plated, galvanized metal and double varnish. Made of the same durable and rustproof material, the back wall is sealed with rockwool. The cover is a polycarbonate disc, which is easy to change. A photovoltaic module and a fan complete the product. We even produce all sizes in our company and accept any order that is so exclusive. Our wish is customer satisfaction. Order your own "heliotherm" for your home, accurately sized and caring for fresh air. This system supports heating and reduces energy costs.
